Obituary

Peggy (Murray) Jaragoske passed away at Avera St. Luke's in Aberdeen, SD on April 16, 2025. Daniel Jaragoske passed away at his home in Mellette, SD on February 19, 2025.

They will have their memorial services together on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Mellette Community Center in Mellette.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and their memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Adrian Timmons will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Calvary Cemetery of Mellette.  After the burial, lunch will be served at the Mellette Community Center.

Peggy Murray was the youngest of five children born to John Phillip and Marie Geraldine (Francoli) Murray on October 24, 1958, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.  Peggy graduated from Northwestern High School in Mellette in 1976.  After graduation, she attended Presentation College in Aberdeen and began working at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield until her retirement in 2004.  In 1981, she married Dan Jaragoske.  Peggy had many hobbies and interests, including painting, crafts, crocheting, bingo, trivia games, fishing, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Peggy will always be remembered for her kindness, patience, easy-going personality, and sense of humor, even when times were stressful and difficult.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan; parents, John and Marie; sister-in-law, Lainey Murray, and brothers-in-law, Dennis Haven and Larry Forbes.

Peggy is survived by her children:  Joe (Liz) Jaragoske of Aberdeen, Jaimie (Tim) Reinbold of Redfield, and Maria (fiancé Gary Young) Castaldi of Northbridge, MA; grandchildren:  Ferrari Gear, and Ian and Liam Reinbold; and siblings:  Rita Haven of Brentford, SD, Rose (Duane) Hoellein of Northville, SD, Paula Forbes of Sarasota, FL, and Pat Murray of Franklin, TN.
