Randy was born on July 4, 1955 in Santa Monica, CA. He was the first child born to Loren and Juanita (Soyland) Morris. Randy and his three siblings, Don, Lisa, and Todd, spent their childhood years growing up in California and Orient, SD. Randy graduated from Faulkton High School in 1973. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army where he served before being honorably discharged. Upon his discharge, Randy enrolled at Northern State College and completed a degree summa cum laude in business administration. Randy spent many years working at Community First Bank in Redfield, SD where he made many lifelong friends. In 2004, he began working at Plains Commerce Bank in Aberdeen, SD as a Senior Internal Auditor/Compliance Officer. He looked forward to going to work every day and enjoyed his co-workers, whom he thought of as family.

He deeply loved his best friend and wife, Peggy, whom he met in 1977. They were married in 1978 in McIntosh, SD. To this union, were born two children, Dustin and Heather. Randy was a wonderful husband and father, and he always made sure to put his family's priorities above his own. He cherished the time he spent enjoying activities with his family.

In his younger years, Randy enjoyed playing softball for the Short Stop Bar team in Faulkton, SD. His later hobbies included playing golf and shooting sports. Randy was an avid Twins and Dodgers fan, and he loved watching golf on TV. Randy loved going to concerts and was able to see many different groups throughout the years including his favorite, Jimmy Buffett. Randy loved to travel and he was always ready to take a vacation anywhere his family wanted to go. He especially loved traveling to Walt Disney World where he was able to take his family this past June. Second to spending time with his family, Randy loved being in the company of the 'Wheezy Riders', a group of friends who enjoyed bike riding, dinners together, and many adventures.

Grateful for sharing his life are wife, Peggy; son, Dustin (Cara) Morris of Fergus Falls, MN, and daughter, Heather Morris of Redfield, SD. He also leaves siblings Todd (Lynn) Morris of Watertown, SD, Lisa (Larry) Molitor of Clear Lake, SD, and Don (Norma) Shanholts of Groton, SD, and a number of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
