Obituary

Richard F. Lambert, 80, of Redfield, SD, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Redfield.

His funeral will be Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Peter M. Utecht will officiate. After a time for lunch and fellowship the burial will be in the Prairie Valley Cemetery in Raymond, SD.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Richard Frank Lambert was born January 29, 1934 in Watertown, SD to Frank and Emma (Mehlberg) Lambert. He grew up in the Raymond area and farmed with his father and various farmers. Richard married Helen Kohl on October 20, 1954 in Clark. They moved to Redfield in 1977 and Richard worked at South Dakota Developmental Center as a maintenance worker.

After his retirement, he enjoyed restoring Allis Chalmers tractors and putting up hay. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching television.

Richard is survived by his wife Helen of Redfield; his children: Dennis Lambert of Springfield, SD; Daniel (Dianna) Lambert of Watertown, SD; Darla (Edward) Scheer of Reidsville, SC; Donna Fortin of Redfield; Dawn Weyh of Sioux Falls, SD; James (Holly) Lambert of Athol, SD and Joseph (Leslie) Lambert of Zell, SD. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and one sister Marlene (Roger) Hink of Raymond and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Deborah Lambert, his brother Eldon, his grandson Cody Fortin and his great grandson Evan Fortin.
