Bob was born in Aberdeen, SD, on June 19 th , 1952, to Robert and Patricia (Haven) Mitchell. He grew up in Brentford, SD and graduated from Northwestern High School in Northville, SD, in 1970. He married Sylvia Bebo on October 26, 1974. To this union was born one daughter Roberta "Bobbi Pat" (Mitchell) Hindberg. He made his life farming north of Brentford.
His daughter and grandchildren were the most important things in his life. He loved spending time with them in Tea, watching them grow and attending all their activities. Bob loved to "winter in the south" in Tea. If there was a gas station nearby, it was a guarantee he'd be stopping with the grandkids to make sure they had all their favorite treats. Bob enjoyed attending countless movies and concerts with Bobbi Pat as she was growing up. He also loved driving around the countryside checking the crops and cattle. He loved music, horses, cattle, deer hunting, attending the Buffalo Roundup in Custer, Chevy pick-ups, and John Deere tractors. One of his greatest accomplishments was that he was able to buy all three grandkids their first cars and now all three are driving Chevys. Some of Bob's fondest memories were of his summers harvesting in Oklahoma. He didn't travel much outside of his summers harvesting, but he did make it to Disneyland, Valleyfair, and Branson with Bobbi Pat. Some of Bob's greatest pleasures in life were the many foods and treats his family would make. There wasn't an event that came up where Bob didn't ask, "what did they serve for food."
Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Yelduz Shrine, and the LaPraire township board for many years.
Bob is survived by his daughter Roberta (Chad) Hindberg, Tea, SD; grandchildren Kimberlee, Hayden, and Emmalee Hindberg, Tea, SD; ex-wife and dear friend Sylvia Bebo, Tea, SD; mother Pat Mitchell, Aberdeen, SD; siblings: Rick Mitchell, Dickinson, ND, Tom Mitchell, Brentford, SD, Bill (Vicki) Mitchell, Brentford, SD, Mary (Marion) Fortin, Brentford, SD, Julie Reff, Clark, SD, Brian Mitchell, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews; as well as many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Mitchell, Sr., and sister Rita Vollmer.
