Roger Dean Allen, 58, of Redfield, SD died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Redfield.

His memorial services will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Father Christopher Hughes will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. (www.thelenfuneralhome.com)

Roger was born June 13, 1954, in St. Paul, MN to Clayton and Mary (Bymers) Allen. He was disabled at the age of 22 and spent his life doing what he loved best, drawing and collecting antiques. He also loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time camping at Lake Dudley and "rolling" around Redfield.


Dean was married twice and is survived by a daughter from his first marriage, Mary (Jeremy) Schake of Clear Lake, SD and their children Zoe and Carter, from his second marriage, his daughter Sophia Allen of Redfield. He is also survived by his step children: Leslie (Joe) Lambert of Zell, SD and their children Shaina and Tyler; Trevor "Tate" Stroup of Redfield and Daryl Gakin and his fiancAC. Kristen and their son Bryer. Dean is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: Daniel (Stacey) Allen, John (Helena) Ford, Mike (Celeste) Ford, Sherie (James) Morgan and Christina (Brian) Triche all of Louisiana. Dean is also survived by several aunts and uncles: Peggy (Ozzie) Baier, Alice (Les) Walker, Viv (Don) Hamlin, Doris (Lee) Harms and eleven nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and his friend Gloria Gakin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents: Eldeen and Laura Friese, Clifford and Dorothy Allen; his uncle Dwight Friese and his cousin Dean Baier.
