Ronald Dean Hofius, 53, of Tulare, SD, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His funeral will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tulare, SD. Reverend Deb Mack will officiate. Burial will be in the Tulare Cemetery. Ronnie was born August 1, 1955 in Owatonna, MN to Erving and Madolin (Schultze) Hofius. He attended school in Pine River, MN and worked in a paper mill in International Falls, MN. Ronnie moved to Tulare, SD in 1981 and worked at South Dakota Wheat Growers until the time of his death. Ronnie married Sally Harper August 17, 1985 in Redfield. They lived in Tulare, where Ronnie enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working on cars.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Sally Hofius of Tulare, three sons: Tanner Hofius of Rapid City, SD; Lance Hofius of Redfield, SD and Ramsey Hofius of Tulare, SD. He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters: Pat, Richard, LaVere, Larry, Mary, Nancy, Charley and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gordon.
