Ruth Thomas, 92, of Redfield, SD, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Ruth was born June 29, 1915 in Rockham, SD to Charley and Vida (Hare) Miller. She married Cecil Thomas on September 10, 1932 in Miller. They farmed in Wheaton Township for many years before moving to Redfield in 1986.

Ruth was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and in her younger years was active in the church and 4-H. She enjoyed reading and playing pinochle.

Ruth is survived by her sons: Dallas and his wife Mary of Rapid City, SD; Wally and his wife Mel of Blytheville, AR; Norm and his wife Romy of Rapid City, SD; and Steve Thomas of Redfield; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil in 1992, two daughters; Mavis Booze and Mary Varner and two sisters: Florence Cooper and Irene Schmidt.
