Ryan Lee Neu, 72, of Redfield, died suddenly on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield, SD. Ryan was cremated and services will be April 7, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Rockham Cemetery in Rockham, SD with a lunch following at the Community Center in Rockham. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Ryan was born on Dec. 09, 1939 in Faulkton, SD, the son of Reinhold and Blanche (Mowry) Neu. He attended school in the Rockham area and high school in Redfield, graduating in 1957. He was active in Fast Pitch Softball with the Redfield Sales Team. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served on the U.S.S. Dewey as a radar operator and traveled to many different countries. Ryan married to Doris Avery and they had one son Micheal.

He began his truck driving career with Harry's Egg Station, hauling eggs to the East coast. He left Redfield for Rapid City and continued truck driving for TriMac. Ryan returned to the Redfield area in 1991, living at Cottonwood Lake and working at SDDC-Redfield and Hansen Motor. He met Marcia McGraw, they became soul mates forever.

He was proud of his garden and did lawn mowing for several neighbors. Ryan and Marcia enjoyed traveling the western states.

Ryan is survived by Marcia McGraw of Redfield; his son Micheal (Diane) Neu of Rapid City; his grandchildren: Amber, Ryan, Taylor and Dalton; and his great grandson Emmitt. His extended family of Wade and Kim McGraw of Raymond, SD; Joe and Alisa Lutter of Zell, SD and lovingly called "Papa Ryan" by Jamie, Emma, Skyler Lutter and Tate, Tye and Taylor McGraw. He is also survived by his brother Norman (Judy) Neu of Rapid City, and several other family members.
