Sally Ann Sale, 69, of Ashton, SD, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday, October 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Jon Damaska will officiate. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery. Sally was born December 26, 1942 to Harry and Frieda (Holdorf) Frericks of rural Northville, SD. Sally attended grade school in Athol and graduated from Redfield High School. After high school, she graduated from Stewarts School of Hairstyling in Aberdeen. Sally married Mike Sale, of Ashton, on June 15, 1963. Sally worked many jobs over her life time, but she was best known as the owner of the Ashton Bar.

Sally was well known for her quick wit, amazing stories and her no nonsense approach to life. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and taking trips with friends and family. Sally also enjoyed going to casinos and watching any game show on television, especially Wheel of Fortune.

Sally is survived by her husband Mike Sale of Ashton, her sons: Rich (Stacy) Sale of Fayetville, NC; and Brad (Dawn) Sale of Parker, AZ; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Helen (Jerry) Bair of Britton, SD; Judy (Terry) Frost of Ashton; and her brother Gary "Chicken" (Ruth) Frericks of Lander, WY; many sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.
