Shirley A. Guenthner, 80, of Redfield, SD, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at her home.

Her funeral will be Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Closed casket visitation will be Sunday from 3-7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-6:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Shirley was born March 14, 1932 in Spink County, SD to Frank and Mary (Loesch) Johnson. She attended Redfield High School and married Leo Guenthner in Redfield on June 2, 1950. They lived on a farm near Redfield for a few years before moving into Redfield. Shirley enjoyed fishing and baking and made many Christmas gifts of baked goods. She was a member of the First Congregational UCC Church and women's group.

Shirley is survived by her three children: Janet (Gary) Broer of San Tan Valley, AZ; Gordon Guenthner of Chandler, AZ; and Denis Guenthner of Shoreview, MN; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leo, in 1981.
