Stanley Lew Steinheuser, age 85, of Tulare, SD, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield, SD, with family by his side.

His funeral services will take place on Friday, July 11, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral at 1:00 PM.  Pastor Todd Bowers will officiate.  Burial, with military honors, will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery in rural Tulare, SD.  After the burial, there will be lunch and fellowship at the Tulare Community Center.

Stanley was born on October 16, 1939, in Huron, SD, to Milton and Sylvia (Kopplin) Steinheuser.  He grew up on a farm near Tulare, the eldest of three siblings.  He graduated from Tulare High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He married the love of his life, Janice Schultz, on February 8, 1959, at St. John's Church in rural Tulare.  They had been married 66 years.  To this union, three children were born, Mark, Julie, and Jay.  He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's activities at school and church.  He accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age and attended Bethany Bible Baptist Church in Tulare.

He loved farming and especially feeding cattle.  He enjoyed telling stories of people and past experiences.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice; children:  Mark (Shari) Steinheuser, Julie (Frank) Grehl, and Jay (Christy) Steinheuser; grandchildren:  Lance Steinheuser, Scott (Jaclyn) Steinheuser, Shaylyn (Clint) Stout, Vanessa (Eric) Edwards, Cassandra (Andrew) Stupka, Nick (Sydney) Grehl, Katelyn (Connor) McPeck, Nathan (Jazzy) Grehl, and Logan, Sadie, and Wyatt Steinheuser; and great-grandchildren:  Harper, Saylor, and Jentry Steinheuser, Stran and Stocktyn Stout, Bryden and Breckyn Edwards, Jada, Audra, and Ariana Stupka, Addison Grehl, Raidor and Ronix McPeck, and Braxton and Paige Grehl. Stanley is also survived by his sister MaryJean Jensen; brother Alan (Diann) Steinheuser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents Milton and Sylvia Steinheuser; in-laws Walter and Esther Schultz; brothers-in-law: Durrell Schultz and Eldon Jensen; and sister-in-law Marilyn Schultz.
