Sue Ann Neitzel, 61, of Redfield, SD died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Manorcare Health Services, in Aberdeen, SD.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield. Pastor Tim Fugman will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Sue Ann was born August 4, 1945 at Redfield, SD to Delwin Hardie and Edith (Davis) Hardie. She attended the Redfield School System and graduated in 1963.
She married Gary Neitzel on February 23, 1963 at Redfield. They lived and farmed at Tulare. On August 31, 1980 Gary passed away. Sue Ann worked as an activity assistant at Beverly Enterprise in Redfield until 2001. She moved to Custer, SD, and worked at the Crazy Horse Memorial until 2004, when she moved back to Redfield. Sue Ann began work at the Lakeside Assistant Living Center and retired in 2005.


She was a member of the UCC Church, Women's Fellowship and Ruth Circle. Sue Ann loved spending time with her eight grandchildren, reading and watching westerns on TV and was an avid Yankees and Twins fan.


Sue Ann is survived by her children: Alan (Deb) Neitzel of Aberdeen, SD, Monte Neitzel of Tulare and Lisa (Bret) Zens of Cozad, NE; eight grandchildren, Aaron Neitzel of Phoenix, AZ, Austin Neitzel of Milbank, SD, Amy Neitzel and Mara Neitzel of Aberdeen, SD, Garrett Zens of Watertown, SD and Galen Zens, Andrew Zens and Tifani Zens all of Cozad, NE; a sister-in-law Maxine Dinger, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her uncle and aunt Clayton and Doris Benning.
