Mac, as everyone affectionately called him, was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 10th, 1935.  He spent his early years in Rice Lake, Wisconsin with his mother and siblings.  A few years after high school, Mac enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Berlin, Germany as a radio operator.  He then moved to California in 1964 where he worked as a carpenter and raised his three boys.  On June 6th, 1981, Mac married the love of his life, Jeraldine.  Their love of small-town life brought them to Redfield in 1994.  Here, he embraced the warm and welcoming Redfield community and quickly became a town fixture.  Mac's passions were gardening, cooking, wood-working projects, and especially golf.

Mac is survived by his loving sons and daughters: Thomas Mackey (and wife Debra), Daniel Mackey, David Mackey, Steve Gunckel (and wife Rhonda), Kerrie Terry (and husband Dean), Lori Lake (and husband Dick); and grandchildren: Tyler Mackey, Cambria Sojka (and husband Robert), Tanner Mackey, Jennifer Gunckel, Nicole Hart, Brian Lane (and wife Yoonie), Cory Lane, brothers: Bill Mackey (and wife Sandy) and Bob Mackey (and wife Julie); and sisters: Kay Steffen (and husband Dennis) and Sandy Day.  Mac was also blessed with many wonderful nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Jerrie.  His passing has created a huge hole in the hearts of all who loved him and he will be forever missed.
