Thomas "Tommy" Michael Sharp, of Redfield, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
Tommy was born on March 3, 1985, in Rapid City, SD, to Melodie (Maliske) Sharp and Duane Sharp. The family lived in Gunnison, CO until moving to Spearfish when Tommy was three years old. When he was 11 years old, he moved to Rapid City with his mother and brother until 2002. At that time, he attended the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield where he resided until his death. Tommy graduated for attendance from the Redfield School District at the age of 21.
Tommy loved singing, walking, and having people close by. He could bounce a basketball like a pro, loved music, but above all, loved his grandfather, Thomas Maliske, more than life itself. Though challenged in life, with his smiles and love for people, he was always able to make people love and care. He could give so much love to everyone he met. Tommy also enjoyed swimming, teasing staff, and singing the national anthem.
Grateful for sharing in Tommy's life are his mother Melodie Adams of Sioux Falls, SD; father Duane Sharp of Woodstock, IL; brothers: Anthony (Tischa) Sharp of Rapid City, SD, and Michael Adams Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Dr. Amanda (Michael) Eannarino of Woodstock, IL; nephew Jackson Witte of Rapid City, SD; and nieces: Zoe Karlen of Woodstock, IL and Cassandra Witte of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, as well as friends and staff at SDDC.
Tommy is preceded in death by his loving, caring, and supportive grandparents: Thomas and Esther Maliske of Spearfish, SD, and Wayne and Doris Sharp of Sparks, NE; and uncle Dwite Sharp of Sparks, NE.
