Verna K. Jenner, 70, of Redfield, SD, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her memorial service will be Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Redfield. Reverend Josh Kendrick will officiate. Verna was born September 15, 1938 in Aberdeen, SD to Theodore and Pearl (Wilkins) Johnson. She attended twelve years of school in Northville, SD. Verna worked for several years in McLaughlin as a nanny and as an aide at the hospital. Verna married Don Schlotter and they adopted their son Wade. She worked at South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield for thirty-four years. She later married Raymond Jenner. Verna enjoyed crocheting and was always giving away her newly crocheted items. Verna suffered a stroke in 1998 and has lived at Golden Living Center since that time.

Verna is survived by her son Wade (Catheleen) Schlotter and their children Cameron and Audrey of Cheney, WA; her sister Joyce (Jim) Bossert of McLaughlin, SD; her sister-in-law Anita Johnson of Stratford, SD; and nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kyle Johnson.
