Vicki Lynn Schimke, 64, formerly of Redfield, SD, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone, MN. Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November, 28, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-5:00 p.m., with family present, at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. (www.thelen-hykefuneralhome.com)

Vicki Lynn Schimke was born August 19, 1952, in Owatonna, MN to Andrew and Patricia (Reardon) Clawson. She moved several times during her childhood, spending most of her younger years growing up in Redfield, SD. She graduated from Redfield High School and attended Morningside College in Iowa where she studied accounting and business.

After graduating from college, she moved to Aberdeen, SD, where she met and married Jesse Schimke. They had a beautiful daughter Valerie.

Vicki and Valerie eventually moved to Redfield where she worked for many years doing bookkeeping for United Methodist Church and Terry's Bar and Restaurant.

Vicki was a kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She had a passion for crocheting and enjoyed baking – especially during the holidays.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Pat, and by her sister, Jean. She is survived by her daughter Valerie (Ryan) Kappel of Egan, SD; her brother Timothy (Mary) Clawson of Eagan, MN; many nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Family will be present from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
