Vivian Schultz, 89, of Redfield, SD died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Redfield Baptist Church in Redfield. Pastor Todd Bowers will officiate. Cremains burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Madison, SD. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Vivian Lucille (Gray) Schultz was born on January 11, 1918, at Fostoria, IA, to Roland Daniel Gray and Edith Almeda (Paulson) Gray. She met and married Walter Emil Schultz, October 14, 1934, in Fargo, ND. Shortly after they were married, they bought a farm near Clifford, ND and farmed there for several years. In 1951, they sold the farm and eventually moved to Madison, SD. She worked for many years cleaning and doing laundry in the medical clinic in Madison. After her husband Walter died in 1982, she moved to Onida, SD and then to Redfield, SD to be near her daughter Lori Lynn Ortbahn.
She is survived by one son Wayne Eugene (Beverly) Schultz of Denver, CO; one daughter Lori Lynn (Anker K. Leifsen) Ortbahn, of Redfield, SD and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Walter Emil Schultz, a son Russell William Schultz and a daughter Karmen Dianne Schultz.
