Obituary

William "Bill" Alexander, 75, of Redfield, SD, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield as a result of injuries sustained in a tractor accident. His memorial service will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Bill was born in Melby, MN on January 27th, 1932 to Arnie and Agnes (Maloney) Alexander. He spent his younger years in Alexandria, MN. After serving in the Korean conflict, Bill married Jean Johnson of Garden City. They moved to Redfield in 1958 where he was employed as a mechanic and foreman for International Harvester for many years. In 1989 he started his own business, "Bill's Radiator Shop".

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Melody and Loren Rohrer of Harrisburg, SD and Charlotte Wessels of Smyrna, GA; two brothers, Gary Alexander of Byers, CO; and Gordon Alexander of Tomah, WI; three grandchildren, Megan and Tony Wessels of McDonough, GA and Lauren Rohrer of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Summer and Haydyn Wessels of McDonough; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his beloved Missy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Garner.
