William "Bill"  Buss, 68, of Redfield, SD, passed away at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield on Monday, February 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. As per his wishes, he was cremated and family-led services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Bill was born October 4, 1956, to Curtis and Kay Buss.

On December 10, 1977, Bill married Cherie Michels. To this union, two children were born, Marie Jane and Carrie Katherine.

Bill was a carpenter by trade, enjoying woodworking. He worked at the South Dakota Developmental Center for many years in the maintenance department. He then worked at Avera St. Lukes, in Aberdeen, SD, in plant operations.  A job which he loved.

Bill is survived by his wife Cherie; daughters Marie (Troy) Hofer, and Carrie Buss; grandchildren: Oliver and Eli Hofer, Joseph William Heiman, and Justin Warren DeYoung; brother Gerry (Eileen) Buss; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Mike Buss and Ray Buss.
