Austin David Shepherd was born on May 19, 1993 in Watertown, SD, to Bruce Shepherd and Nicole (Asmussen) Bublitz. He grew up in the Redfield and Florence, SD areas with two sisters, Ashley Shepherd and Brittany Bublitz. He graduated from Florence High School in 2012. On May 11, 2018, Austin married Haley Radcliff in Doland, SD where they made their home.
He loved doing anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and enjoyed doing both locally and out-of-state. You would never find him without his dogs, Hannah and Bella. He liked helping on the farm with the animals and vegetable gardens. He was always trying to make others laugh with his goofy sense of humor.
You could see how big his heart was when he was always there to help his family and friends. He was passionate about life and was kind, loving, and respectful. Austin was involved in a bad car accident in June of 2019. He struggled to recover from his injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. His personality changed as a result of the accident, and despite the loving support of family and friends, Austin could not overcome the obstacles. “You will be missed by so many. We love you, Austin”.
Austin is loved by many. He is survived by his wife Haley (Radcliff) Shepherd of Doland; dad Bruce Shepherd, stepmom Lisa Shepherd, sister Ashley Shepherd, all of Castlewood, SD; and sister Brittany Bublitz of Redfield. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, great-grandma, grandparents, niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom Nicole (Asmussen) Bublitz, and grandfather Stanley Shepherd.
