Gloria “Glo” Jean Lindskov, 67, of Doland, SD, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield, SD surrounded by family. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020, at the United Methodist Church in Doland. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Lunch and fellowship after the service will take place at Bottom's Up Bar & Grill in Doland. Cremains will be buried at a later date in the Doland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Family will be present during this time to accept condolences. A prayer service and time for remembering will follow at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home. (www.hykefuneralhome.com)
Gloria Jean Woodfork was born on May 13, 1952, to Milford and Lillian (Kleinsasser) Woodfork in Redfield, SD. Glo graduated from Doland High School with the class of ’70 and married Johnny Lindskov on October 15, 1971.
Glo was a fabulous cook and especially known for her cookies. She was employed by Westside Café and the Now and Then Supper Club. She ran the Senior Nutrition Program and served students as a Doland School cook. In 1999, “Glo’s Playhouse” began caring for dozens of children. After ten years, health problems forced her to move the child care to her home.
Favorite activities included reading, bowling, plastic canvas, scrapbooking, and snowmobiling with Johnny. Women in Action, United Methodist Women, and Doland PTA benefited from her input. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Doland.
Survivors include her husband Johnny of 49 years; daughter Melinda and husband Alan Rowe, Doland; and five step-grandchildren: Cooper and Dillon Rowe; Riley, Karlie, and Kevin Brabant. She is also survived by her mother, Lillian Woodfork, Clark, SD; mother-in-law, Ferne Lindskov, Redfield; five sisters: Cleo (James) Parker, Ft. Morgan, CO; Brenda Barrie, Garden City, KS; Janet Fortin, Watertown, SD and husband Norbert Fortin, Clark, SD; Karen (Brad) Walter, Garden City, KS; and Julie Woodfork, Sioux Falls, SD; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Milford Woodfork in 1990; son, Christen in 2014; and father-in-law, Noel Lindskov in 1968.
