On April 10, 1932, Irene Alice Brink was born to Erick “Victor” and Blanche (Masat) Brink in Redfield, SD; the first grandchild for both the Brink and Masat families.  She attended Brink Country School through eighth grade and then graduated from Redfield High School.  After graduation, she moved to Rapid City, SD to attend business college and she worked at Rushmore Mutual Life Insurance.

Irene married the love of her life, Clayton Davis, on April 8, 1952, in Rapid City.  They were blessed with 58 years together and two children, Lynne and Keith.  After traveling the world as a military wife, Irene and her family settled in Maryland.  Irene worked as an analyst at the National Security Agency (NSA) for many years where she retired.  She did eventually return to Redfield where she was born and raised.

Irene was an avid gardener, cook, and reader.  She enjoyed puzzles, weekly Bingo games, and visiting with neighbors. She was known for her industriousness, stewardship, loving nature, and compassionate spirit.  These qualities made her beloved to all who knew her.  Irene was a pillar of her community and could be depended on by all her neighbors.    Irene’s loving spirit was felt most by her adoring family who she faithfully cared for.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children:  Lynne Davis and Keith Davis; grandchildren: Dawn Davis, Luther (Melvette) Davis, and Jennifer (Lee Jr.) Clarke; great-grandchildren:  Sierra Davis, Celeste Davis, Lee Clarke III, Jada Clarke, Justin Clarke, Luther Davis Jr., Miracle Davis, Jasmine Clarke, and Myles Davis; and great-great-granddaughter Maliyah Deluzio.  She is also survived by her sisters:  Rosa (Clark) Davis and Evelyn Holm; nieces:  Brenda Davis, Stacey (Dave) Marlow, Shawn (Dave) Nichols, Christina (Robert) Cox, Laura (Mark) Engwicht, Ellen Kay (Vince) Marshall, Sue Ann Hayes; nephew Scott Brink; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clayton; brother Harold (Mavis) Brink; and brother-in-law Steven Holm.
